UniSuper CEO supports The Big Issue CEO selling campaign
07 Feb 2018
Kevin O‘Sullivan, UniSuper CEO is taking part in the CEO selling campaign as part of International Vendor Week; celebrating more than 100 street papers and 21,000 vendors in 34 countries around the world.
The Big Issue, a not-for-profit social enterprise, runs the campaign to shine a spotlight on thousands of homeless and disadvantaged street paper vendors who are working hard to change their lives.
This year over 100 business and political leaders across Australia, are selling copies of The Big Issue alongside vendors to give the public an opportunity to buy the magazine from someone they already know and trust, helping vendors reach new readers.
Kevin O’Sullivan sold copies outside the UniSuper office on Bourke Street in Melbourne alongside street vendor Teresa. Teresa started selling the big issue following a back injury that prevented her returning to full time work.
Kevin commented on the experience: “After being a purchaser of the Big Issue for many years, the shoe was on the other foot this morning!
“Thanks to the great assistance and experience of Teresa, I was able to sell quite a few copies and share more widely the knowledge of the Big Issue, and how so many vendors benefit from selling this excellent magazine.
“It was a great experience and thanks to all those who bought a magazine.”
